TIDEL RELEASES THE SENTINEL BULK COIN DISPENSER WITH NOTE DISPENSER (BCND) AND CASH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Carrollton, Texas — Tidel Engineering, L.P. announces the availability of the newest Sentinel model, the Tidel Sentinel Bulk Coin Dispenser with Note Dispenser (BCND) Cash Management System.  The new Sentinel BCND offers the capability to load and dispense bulk coins and load and dispense notes in any mix of denomination.  Coin storage capacity is 400% to 500% greater than the capacity of most rolled coin systems, while each note dispenser cassette (up to 4 denominations) can hold approximately 500 notes for a total of 2,000 notes. A savings of $1,000 per store per year in rolled coin expense is realized for a typical store. The Tidel Sentinel BCND supports coin and note currency from all over the globe.

SENTINEL BCND PRODUCT INFORMATION

Tidel’s revolutionary Sentinel Cash Management System has set the standard for cash control while interfacing with any POS device or any other device on an Ethernet Network.  All Sentinel products are as easy to attach to an Ethernet LAN as attaching a PC.  Simply assign an IP address and any user on the company network, with approval, can access the Sentinel for reporting or data gathering.  The Sentinel BCND extends the typical Sentinel capabilities by offering bulk coin and note dispensing in most coin or note currency worldwide.  Coins are dispensed into six (6) smart transport cups.  By entering a PIN number and one keystroke, a cashier’s till can be filled with both coins and notes without a manager being present.  The opening till amount is preset by the customer.

Coin loading time is dramatically reduced through a convenient loading system that accepts loose coins in bags that are dumped into large coin hoppers.  The capacity of coins is 400% to 500% greater as compared to most safes with vending tubes.  The coin dispensing system can dispense variable amounts of coins at the touch of a button.  Each coin is counted and accounted for by individual cashiers using the PIN input on the touchscreen or the POS. By utilizing bags of coins instead of rolls of coins, customers can save over $1,000 per store, per year, in rolled coin expense, plus reduce the time necessary to replenish the safe.

The Note Dispenser has 2, 3 or 4 cassettes that hold approximately 500 notes each.  This note dispenser can be used for till replenishment, debit card cash-back transactions, check cashing or lottery pay-outs.  The dispenser can output large quantities of notes, in any mix to make exact change for payouts.  Both bulk coin and note dispensers are firsts in the intelligent safe marketplace which has been led by Tidel for over 30 years.

The Sentinel BCND is Windows CE based and is as simple to install on the network as attaching a PC.  The entire Sentinel family can be accessed or operated by any valid user within the network. This is also ideal for downloading software updates throughout the network for either application updates or for updating the Note Validators when new currency is released by local governments.   The Tidel Sentinel is the only product set that can facilitate new currency software updates over the network. Other safes require a person to physically travel to every store to update the note validators.  This dramatic time and cost savings feature significantly enhances the Sentinel Return on Investment (ROI) compared to other safes.  The Sentinel  BCND also interfaces with any POS system, for central operations and control to provide a Total Cash Management Solution for cash in the till and exact cash in the safe.  One typical example is depositing notes in the safe from the till.   With the Sentinel, the deposit key is pressed and the notes are input into the safe’s note validators, the safe then pushes back to the POS the exact amount deposited into the safe. The total value moved from the POS till to the safe is then in actual balance since no manual entries are made. This is the ONLY accurate way to assure that what is “deposited” into the safe actually reaches the safe, thus eliminating cash shrinkage. The Sentinel interacts with any POS that runs on the Ethernet LAN in a push/pull methodology.

The Tidel Sentinel Cash Management Solution comes at no extra charge, has no annual software maintenance expense, offers a Script Report Writer Engine, and includes ongoing software updates for new currency releases by local governments. The software is compatible with all models, the Sentinel, Sentinel SCD, Sentinel BCD and Sentinel BCND.   The Sentinel Cash Management Solution is unrivaled in the world of Cash Management intelligent safes for the retail marketplace.

The Sentinel BCND can be configured with either one or two bulk note validators or one or two single note validators in the main system.  The system can then be expanded with sidecars to facilitate additional POS locations in the store with note validators in single note or bulk note configurations.  Single note validators come with a 1,500 note cassette each and the bulk note validators come with cassettes that hold 2,000 notes each.

Tidel Sentinel products offer instant access data keys for CIT couriers, integrated thermal printer for over 30 reports, three separate time delayed vaults, 48,000 transactions are stored in the standard memory, touchpad for PIN input and general operation, the safe can be operated in most any language based on PIN number, and the set-up information can be managed from a remote location.

Tidel Sentinel products come with a one year parts and 90 day labor warranty in the US/Canada and can be expanded to 1 or 2 or 3 years of Parts and Labor Extended Warranty. All Tidel products are supported by Tidel's 24-hour, seven-day customer service center. On-site service may be selected as next business day, next day - 7 days per week, or 4 hour on-site service.    Tidel offers service and support in over 120 countries worldwide.  Purchases or leases are available.
